Lisbon’s miradouros are more than scenic balconies over the city — they are living stages where light, rhythm, and daily life meet. But what truly completes the atmosphere is the soundtrack. Street musicians often set up in these spaces, turning a simple viewpoint into an open-air performance. Their presence adds movement and emotion to the scene — fingers on guitar strings, voices echoing softly over Alfama’s whitewashed walls, melodies mingling with conversations and the breeze.

Modernity Along the Tagus
People often imagine Lisbon as a maze of old neighbourhoods, tiled façades, and narrow alleys — and they’re right. But that’s only half the story.
The other half stretches along the Tagus, where the city opens up into clean lines, modern silhouettes, and unexpected geometry.
A few days ago, I had a guest with a tight schedule and a very precise list of shots he wanted. No wandering allowed — every stop had to count. So we set off along the river, chasing light across concrete curves, metallic reflections, and those unmistakable contemporary landmarks that feel almost hidden unless you know where to look.
Between one location and the next, the conversation drifted from lenses to architecture, from travel stories to favourite cities. The rush slowly dissolved into the simple rhythm of exploring: find the frame, wait for the moment, shoot.
By the end, we had covered both sides of Lisbon — the modern structures standing proud by the water, and the older textures tucked behind them. Two versions of the same city, meeting at the river.
And that’s the Lisbon I love showing: the one you discover only when you let the story unfold.

Choosing the Road Ahead
There’s a moment, right before a curve, when the road disappears and all you can see is shadow and possibility. I’ve always loved that feeling — not knowing exactly where the path leads, but taking it anyway.
This photo marked that thought for me. A split in the light, a small sign pointing inward, and a road that bends just out of sight. Nothing dramatic, nothing staged. Just a quiet reminder that every direction we take starts with a small decision: keep going, turn left, turn right… or start something new.
